I CIVIL FORUM OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
OF THE NORTH CAUCASUS FEDERAL DISTRICT
The Russian FOCUS-MEDIA Public Health and Social Development Foundation is inviting the North Caucasus non-governmental organizations to take part in the I regional CIVIL FORUM, aimed at analyzing the situation and assessing the NGOs’ impact on the social and economic development of the North Caucasus region, as well as formulating concrete decisions on the civil society development.
The participants will be the NGOs representatives from the North Caucasus Federal District (Stavropol Krai, republics of Karachay-Cirkassia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia-Alania, Chechen Republic, Ingushetia, Dagestan), as well as the governmental structures, international organizations, business community and the media. The estimated number of participants is 120.
Objectives of the Forum:
- Assess the current situation and level of civil society development in the region;
- Establish constructive partnerships between NGOs, governmental structures and business community;
- Raise the awareness and improve skills of the Forum participants;
- Improve the image of NGOs, promote strengthening their impact on social and economic processes in the region.
The main issues of the Forum:
International Dialogue. Tolerance
Inter-ethnic conflicts, discrimination and intolerance are still a serious obstacle to the economic and social development, as well as the international cooperation and peace.
Public Health and Social Assistance to Population
The work on protecting and improving the health of the population should be strengthened by combining the efforts of local authorities, business and non-profit organizations.
Economic Development of the Region and Unemployment
A favorable economic situation and high living standard of population in the North Caucasus is a factor of the general political stability in

Terms of participation:
The organizer is inviting NGOs of the North-Caucasus Federal District to participate in the Forum. Selection will be based on applications. The first 100 organizations selected according to the terms of participation (at least one year of successful work) will be provided funds by the Forum organizers to pay for their travel and accommodation expenses.
The registration fee is 100 rubles.
